Timber and Flint sat curled up in their den as the snow poured from the pale white sky. Flint licked her muzzle and walked from the den and barked, "I'm going in the house to see the kids." His muscles contorted and stretched, his snout shrunk into his face, his fur disappeared, and his tail shrunk, then he was human. He pulled his jacket over his head and trudged through the snow to a red brick house. He pushed open the door and shook the snow from his hair and called, "Drake, Moon! Get down here please!" Two sets of feet thundered down the stairs and a boy with black ahir and a girl with blonde hair were staring at their father. "Yes?" Moon asked, annoyed. Flint huffed angrily, "I told you both to take a patrol, and you were just sitting here! Go get Echo and patrol, NOW!" Flint growled at his kids and watched them out the door.
(um, it's Pyro, not Ash...)
ReplyDeleteTimber began to groom her fur, watching the snow outside.
Moon bowed her head. "Yes, dad." She walked out the door and morphed into a wolf.
Raven licked her lips. "Good food." she barked happily.
Pyro gulped down pieces of meat. "Thank you!" he called to his sister, then winked at Raven.
"Oh, shut it!" Raven growled at Pyro.
(ash, pyro, and seth r her brothers)
ReplyDeleteCalla stifled a laugh and nudged Raven. she barked jokingly, "For all you know the keepers will pair you and him as mates."
(btw keepers... well its a long story ill make a page to explain the sturf.)
Ash grinned broadly at Pyro and leaped onto him growling playfully.
Drake sighed and morphed wolf as he leaped out the door into the ankle deep snow.
Flint nodded and slammed the door behind him and bounded through the snow back to Timber. he barked, "The kids are on a patrol now, with Echo."
Pyro yelped and laughed.
ReplyDelete"NO!" Raven screeched, revolted. "I'm going for a walk." She barked, then leaped into the forest. She padded to the border, and gazed out at the Spiritfang side.
Timber nodded. "Good."
Moon padded out into the snow, blending in easily.
Echo bounded over to Moon. "Are we going somewhere?" She glanced at Drake.
ReplyDeleteDrake followed his littermate and barked, "I'm going alone. See ya in a bit." He bounded into the woods and decided to follow the border to Nightshade. His ears pricked as he emerged from the covering of the pines and he caught a glimpse of a black she-wolf.
Ash overpowered his brother and nipped at him playfully.
Moon shrugged and turned to the other side of the forest.
ReplyDeleteRaven was too busy taking in the beauty of the woods to notice the other wolf's scent.
Echo sighed and padded into the dense pines, scenting the air.
ReplyDeleteDrake backed into the pines and stared at the pretty wolf. Her green eyes were bright and shinig, her black fur standing out against the icy snow; just like him.
Flint sat down comfortably next to his mate and gently licked her ear.
Raven stood and took a few steps forward, into enemy territory. But she didn't know that. She had her eye on a bird.
ReplyDeleteMoon padded toward the border to the Nightshade Pack. She saw an unfamiliar wolf, and growled. "Get off my land!" She howled, jumping onto the black she-wolf.
Drake sped from the pines and leaped onto the Nightshade, thrusting her away from his enraged sibling. He gave a warning growl, but his eyes shone clear with his intent; to keep her from being torn to shreds.
ReplyDeleteEcho howled angrily. 'That mangy Nightshade! On MY territory!' She quipped to her denmates.
Raven struggled beneath the black tom, not seeing the look in his eyes. "Get off of me, you oversized puffball!"
ReplyDeleteDrake was shocked. He growled fiercely and barked angrily, "Then get off my territory you mangy excuse for a wolf!" He gnashed his canines and snapped them at her, he threw himself at her and attacked with ferocity.
ReplyDeleteEcho was taken aback, Drake was so level headed, at least usually he was.
Raven barked angrily. Then she smiled. She rolled him over and over until they were in her own territory. Then she sprang away. "Get off MY territoy!" She spat, nipping at the wolf's ear.
ReplyDeleteDrake growled, but didn't back off. he continued to slash at snap at her; his rage fueling the attacks.
ReplyDeleteCalla's ears pricked at the sounds of battle. She called off her brothers and she raced into the forest to the growls and barks.
Ash looked up and followed his icy white sister.
Raven yelped as Drake caught her on the leg. Her knee buckled, and she growled as Drake sent jabs and bites at her. She feebly attempted to fight back, but just couldn't. Soon, her eyes began to close. She managed to force them back open for one second, though, to say, "This isn't over." Then she let the blackness take over.
ReplyDeletePyro followed his siblings into the woods. He saw a black Spiritfang male poking at Raven, ripping fur off here and there. She would twitch with each jab, unti finally she was still. "No!" he leaped out toward the male, his eyes blazing with fury.
Drake turned from the she-wolf to a reddish male that was flying at him. He growled and dove under his paws, grabbing one of his hind legs and yanking hi to the ground. 'Wow. I guess all that training was finally worth it.' he thought as he bit into the males scruff and threw him back at the white female and grey male, trying to knock them over.
ReplyDeleteCalla yipped as her brother hurtled toward her, she jumped out of the way, then she helped him up. She ran at one of the other Spiritfangs with bared teeth, her eyes ablaze.
Echo hissed at charged the grey male as the white female ran at Moon. She howled a battle cry and threw herself at him with full force.
Pyro nodded to Calla, then spat at the black wolf from Spiritfang. He padded over to Raven, waking her up by nuzzling her over and over.
ReplyDelete"Huh?" Raven asked.
"Are you ok?" Pyro asked.
"Yeah." Raven looked around. "Is that black wolf still here?"
"Yes."
"Good. Help me up. I'm going to rip him to shreds."
Drake picked his ears at the conversation between the Nightshades. He growled and leaped on the reddish male again, then bit into his flank which was followed by a slash to the face.
ReplyDeleteCalla threw herself at Moon with extreme intensity as she snapped at her with bared canines. She circled her before launching another attack.
Pyro avoided both attacks and let Raven take over.
ReplyDeleteRaven growled at the black wolf and leaped at him. She slashed at his over and over, driving him back to his woods.
Moon zipped away from her attacker and leaped onto a rock. "STOP!" She howled. "This is unnecessary. We don't need to shed so much blood over such a small insident. Spiritfang wolves, let's go." She looked down at Echo, hoping that her friend would help her.
Echo looked up and backed over the border.
ReplyDeleteDrake listened to Moon, but didn't follow the orders. He ignored the slashes all over him and charged back at the black wolf snapping at her. He caught her foreleg after one of her slashes with his teeth and shoved her back to her territory.
Raven growled, her eyes narrowed, but leaned on Pyro's shoulder and turned away.
ReplyDeleteDrake growled and turned back to his territory. He shrugged past his packmates and limped as fast as he could back to his house. He tried to morph human, but it caused him too much pain; so he stayed wolf as he tracked snow, mud, and blood up the stairs to his room. He collapsed in a heap in a pile of blankets that served as his wolf nest. He drifted off the an uneasy sleep, dreaming about the black she-wolf.
ReplyDeleteEcho watched Drake limp away.
Ash lapped the blood from his few wounds led the way back to the pack dens.
Calla walked on the other side of Raven. She asked, "Are you alright?"
Moon stared after her brother, eyes wide. Then she glanced back at the black she-wolf. She jumped down from the rock to join Echo.
ReplyDeleteRaven nodded and switched to Calla's shoulder, nodding her thanks to Pyro.
Calla whispered in her beta's ear, "That was the alpha-to-be for the Spiritfangs, until he got booted. Now I think his sister Moon is going to be alpha. Who knows? But, I think his name is Blake or something."
ReplyDeleteDrake twitched painfully in his sleep as he dreamed. (here is the dream btw)
He nuzzled the black she-wolf affectionately as they sat tucked way in a snow covered gorge near the border. He pricked his ears as the Spiritfang Head Keeper, Trenton, came out from behind them and yelled. "Go back to your pack Nightshade, and leave my alpha alone!" Drake growled and threw himself at the Keeper. "She is mine I tell you, Mine!" The Keeper laughed maniacally and grabbed Drake by the throat, his paws dangling above the snow.
Raven nodded, glancing back toward the blood-stained battle field. "I won't soon forget him, after all the wounds he gave me." She spat.
ReplyDeleteDrake woke suddenly, Flint standing over him.
ReplyDelete"What happened to you?" Flint asked his son carefully.
"Ran into a Nightshade who had crossed the border." Drake yipped.
"A little quarrel banged you up this bad?" he stared at his son quizzically.
Drake shook his head and blood flew everywhere, spattering all of his stuff. "I got angry."
Flint stared at Drake, his mouth open, eyes wide. "You got mad?"
Drake nodded solemly.
Calla grimaced as she looked back to see blood and fur covering the small area. She barked, 'Lets get you home."
Timber padded into Drake's room and narrowed her eyes. "What happened?"
ReplyDeleteRaven nodded and padded forward more quickly.
Calla sighed, "Don't hurt yourself even more!"
ReplyDeleteDrake shrugged, "A Nightshade crossed the border, I got angry, we fought, Moon and Echo showed up, more Nightshades came, blah blah blah, and here I am."
"I'm fine!" Raven insisted.
ReplyDelete"And this much blood was shed over only that?" Timber growled.
"That's what I said." Moon barked softly. She was standing in the doorway. "I had to break up the fight."
Calla shrugged and emerged into camp.
ReplyDeleteDrake buried his muzzle under his paws after barking, "I got mad was the key words there." he felt stiff with dried blood and his muscles ached endlessly.
Echo poked her head in the door and listened quietly.
Moon padded back out of the room, and continued to her own. She morphed into a human and lay on her bed.
ReplyDeleteRaven grabbed a piece of prey and began to eat.
Drake watched his sister leave and barked firmly, 'I am tired and would like to rest."
ReplyDeleteFlint got the message and padded from the room.
Calla licked the dried blood from her icy pelt and stretched in the noon sun. She barked, "It sucks that we have to go back to school tomorrow. I hate Sundays for that very reason."
Timber growled but exited as well. "What are we to do with him?" She wondered, shaking her head.
ReplyDelete"Ugh!" Raven groaned. "How am I supposed to get all these scars gone?"
Calla laughed, "Wear jeans for once, and a sweatshirt over your t-shirt maybe?"
ReplyDeleteAsh laughed along with his sister.
"I wear jeans all the time!" Raven stomped her foot. "I haven't recently because I love jean shorts! Besides, all the guys have started to notice me. I can't disappoint them now!"
ReplyDelete"Oh. That's your reasoning." Calla said jokingly.
ReplyDeleteRaven shot her best death glare at Calla. "Whatever. I'm going home." She padded out of the camp and raced to her house, morphing into a human. She climbed the stairs to her room, took out her scar-erase cream, and got to work.
ReplyDeleteCalla watched Raven leave and padded toward her house. Ash nipped at her tail and she turned around and swiped at his muzzle. She tiredly loped into the house and morphed human.
